MD: Seeing all these concepts of Asami’s outfit together really reminds me how important a character’s costume is and how it helps illustrate his or her personality and role in the story. I love the final version, which is a nice balance of formal business attire and fashion-forward elegance. Asami concepts and designs by Lauren Montgomery, Christie Tseng, and Bryan Konietzko. My fashionable art friends have been making really cute “daily outfit” drawings and I wanted to join in!

Cosplay Footwear Tips
If you make or wear a lot of costumes, you may have a shoe storage problem. Even if you stick to cosplaying characters within the same game or comic book, footwear differs from outfit to outfit. The purple boots I have for my Amethyst costume don’t really go with anything else — well, not as far as cosplay is concerned. Besides the practical problems of having tons of shoes for cosplay, it can get expensive. It doesn’t make sense to drop tons of money on shoes you’ll only wear a few times. Svetlana Quindt, also known as Kamui Cosplay, has some tips to help you pare down your shoe collection.
She recently posted on Facebook that she only has two pairs of cosplay shoes. Now, Quindt is a prolific cosplayer with several different ensembles in her portfolio. Some of her costumes have a similar look, but I wouldn’t have guessed she’d wear the same shoes with them. She has a set of hiking shoes (they still have heels) and a pair of “pretty” shoes with higher heels. She simply changes the tops or covers them to match whatever she’s wearing:
“…as you can see I always just change the top. Sometimes I attach some armor pieces, sometimes I’ll use a boot cover. That way I’m able to use the same pair of shoes for different costumes and safe a lot of space in my suitcase! In addition there is no need to buy a new pair for every single cosplay! Try it out.”

Brilliant!!
The history of women tennis started in 1860s. Earlier women tennis players used to wear heavy floor length skirts with large hats. The restrictive attire greatly hampered the movement required to play to the game of tennis but with the passage of time, tennis clothing become more comfortable and lightweight.
Tennis fashion has been mainly influenced by the fashion sense and needs of individual players. In 1922, French tennis player Suzanne Lenglen took a daring step when she started to wear knee-length skirts. Those skirts improved the movement and agility of the players. Later on, American tennis player Helen Wills Moody introduced sleeveless shirts and pleated skirts.
Female tennis player really started experiments with their clothing and accessories during 1990s. In fact, many players made headline more for their stylish outfits rather than their game. Russian player Anna Kournikova was among those few players. The arrival of Venus and Serena Williams completely changed the scenario of tennis fashion world. Both sisters added more glamour with their colorful stylish clothing, jewelry and sometimes unique shoes. Many other current female players such as Maria Sharapova and Ana Ivanovic are also considered stylish and fashionable.
Men’s tennis fashion also changed significantly over the years. Initially, male tennis players used to wear long flannel pants and shirts, giving it a more wealthy and conservative look. American tennis player Big Bill Tilden started to wear more casual tennis clothing which helped change the perception of game. The trousers, shirts and sweaters wore by Tilden were more suited to the needs and demands of a tennis player.
British tennis player Henry Austin is credited for introducing shorts in tennis. White color was the premier choice for male tennis players. From the 1990s onwards, they started to wear other colors and prints as well. But still men’s tennis fashion is not much about what they wear. It revolves around the accessories that are used by them such as wristbands, headbands and sneakers. Headbands became popular during 1970s. Swedish Player Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe used to wear headbands while playing tennis and since then, headband has become a major tennis accessory.
Today, many tennis players are known as style icons of men’s tennis. Top players like Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray are few of them. They have their own specific style and they remain in limelight not only for their tennis but also for their fashion and style.
For Big Ball Tennis, it doesn’t really matter how you dress, in fact…the more hilarious, the better

Revisiting an outfit I wore Saturday at Rufflecon. It was super windy when I took this so please excuse the skirt looking a bit strange.
Anyway I tried to go all out nautical with this outfit with mermaids, seashells and stripes everywhere.
